Urban Undergrounds is an independent music label for hip hop and electronic music. MWK was commissioned to design the website and implement it in WordPress. The user-friendly content management system allows the client to maintain the site independently and customize all content as desired.
News, new releases and carefully curated playlists are presented on the website and seamlessly linked to Spotify and Apple Music. Each release is given its own microsite - with a cover motif, track list and a concise description.
There is also a submit area that offers up-and-coming artists the opportunity to present themselves. MP3 files can be uploaded or a Soundcloud link submitted via the contact form - all fully responsive, of course.
At the heart of the site is an online store where you can buy recordings, clothing and cover art. Technically, the store system was implemented using the WordPress plugin WooCommerce. This allows the customer to customize all products, delivery and payment methods conveniently via the browser interface.
